His professional background includes 30+ years in Southern California law enforcement, starting with the Newport Beach Police, Stanton Police and then The Orange County Sheriff’s Department. His career path was not typical for law enforcement as he spent the majority of his time assigned to various Investigative divisions. He was promoted to the rank of Investigator in 1999, and obtained his California Private Investigators License in 2014.

During his time as an Investigator, he has managed thousands of cases including a variety of criminal and civil investigations, fugitive recovery investigations, fraud, surveillance, undercover operations, witness/dignitary protection assignments, family law investigations and employment background investigations. 

Mr. Kaesman was assigned to the Special Victims Unit for 13 years.  While assigned to the Unit, he investigated thousands of cases involving sexual assaults, serial rapists, child molest, elder abuse, clergy, elected politicians, judicial officers, internal criminal investigations and other high profile/ sensitive investigations. In addition, he was often tasked to assist with Officer Involved Shooting investigations and worked with federal task force officers on multiple cases. 

Mr. Kaesman’s overall experience includes, fraud and identity theft investigations, stationary and mobile surveillance techniques, interview and interrogation techniques, report writing, courtroom testimony, dignitary protection, background checks, and case management.  Mr. Kaesman has also testified as an expert witness in both State and Federal courts. 

Mr. Kaesman has a unique advantage in that he has interviewed thousands of victims and suspects and has been able to make a value judgement on the credibility of the victim and or the suspect. Many of the investigations involve suspects in various positions of power or influence. Mr. Kaesman is familiar with local sexual assault statutes and has often been tasked in determining if allegations rise to the level of criminal behavior or not.
